The Story

The Del Monte Forest is one of the most beautiful forests in the world and an international treasure. It is also endangered and on the brink of extinction. The home of the famous 17 Mile Drive is threatened by the Pebble Beach Company. The corporation wants to make a profit by developing the remaining vacant land and have submitted a plan that will cut down 17,000 trees. They have told the public that the only alternative is to build 900 homes, but in truth, they only own up to 41 legal lots. The Coastal Commission denied the Pebble Beach Company's proposal on June 13, 2007.
